Episode 185: Tiberius Yoshisaurus Something Japanese

In this latest edition of The Scope, Adam reluctantly discusses a major announcement he never really wanted announced, Shane tries to get into the sound effect game with marginal success, and Jared ponders websites that might be found in the Star Wars Internet.

Oh, and there’s some news, too. One third of it isn’t depressing.

The Scope episode 185 knows a shark eventually lets go of the prey it is eating….timing!

Under The Scope | Movie Review: The Expendables 3

The third installment in Sylvester Stallone’s action franchise is here, and its definitely number three in a series. Many of your favorites are back along with some new recruits and several more old guys who happen to have never been in one of these things before. Does the film soar, or is it true to its name? Jared and guest host Earl will decide.

The Scope The Expendables 3 review has to get to da choppa.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Let’s Be Cops

In the latest Scope summer movie review, Jared and Shane take on Let’s Be Cops, the Jake Johnson/Damon Wayans Jr. New Girl spinoff movie.  Well, it isn’t exactly a spinoff…but you can’t blame us for our confusion.

Let’s Be Cops is about two lovable losers that pretend to be real police officers…and get into all sorts of hijinks and shenanigans. (Like you didn’t see that coming, right?) While the plot might be predictable, did Jake, Damon, and director Luke Greenfield put enough other great things into the movie to garner some Scope love?

Watch and/or listen to the latest Scope movie review and find out!

The Scope Let’s Be Cops review missed Winston, Jess, and Schmidt.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Turtle Power is back on the silver screen, courtesy of producer Michael Bay. This movie based on a cartoon based on a comic book blasts your favorite Renaissance-themed reptiles at you in 3D while also giving you all the April O’Neil (Megan Fox) you can handle. But these Turtles have a secret (hint: it has nothing to do with ooze). Will the Foot Clan burn New York to the ground? Maybe.

The Scope Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles review never has to hold back a mighty yell of “COWABUNGA!”

Episode 184: Three Guys, Two Books, and Two Podcasts

What pop culture things should you, the loyal Scope fan, be into at this moment? Jared, Adam, and Shane take the entirety of episode 184 to tell you. (And not one TV show, music act, or video game made the list. Are your Scope hosts growing up?)

It’s a lot of talk about a bunch of cool things. So listen to (or watch) the latest Scope, and then blindly seek out the stuff your Scope hosts demanded you check out. It’s a simple formula with a great outcome. Everyone ends up a winner. Including America.

Especially America.

The Scope episode 184 is big data in action.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy

Summary text. What do I write? This is why I have Shane write them, but he’s on vacation. Anyway, Director James Gunn brings to life the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Guardians of the Galaxy. Our cast of ne’er-do-wells reluctantly works together (at first) to save galaxy and bring smiles to the audience. Do the succeed on both counts? Let’s find out!

The Scope Guardians of the Galaxy review has at least 13% of a plan.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Lucy

Scientists say we only use 10% of our cerebral capacity. No they don’t, but Hollywood does, and it sure feels like they only used 10% of their brains when they put together Lucy. Scarlett Johansson’s Lucy is an unwitting drug mule whose brain power grows once the drugs leak in her gut and her body reacts. And then things really get incomprehensible. Also, sparkly USB thumb drive.

The Scope Lucy review always drives against traffic to get there faster.

Episode 183: Mr. Produce and the Tale of Big, Thick Corneas

In this edition of The Scope, Adam and Shane tell the story of their recent Lasik surgery (the horror!) while Jared tried to get in on the fun by chatting about CONvergence and a summer TV follow-up. There’s also talk of proper fruit basket fruits and the origins of cranberries.

Overall, it’s a well-rounded show. You really should check it out. Adam and Shane’s new bionic eyes beg you.

The Scope episode 183 is confirming the existence of 23 Jumpstreet. Now some go tell Tatum and Hill.

Episode 182: Churchill vs. Washington: The Battle to Isolate Gay Adoption

Adam returns after a month-long hiatus! And the Scoperverse rejoices! And he’s just in time because there’s tons of news, TVShirt.com info, and painful Taco Bell fart talk to cover. So why don’t you get to digesting this power-packed edition of the Scope? You’d hate yourself if you didn’t!

The Scope episode 182 maybe be lacking a clever line to end this sentence…but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t trying.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Sex Tape

In this, the latest edition of The Scope’s 2014 summer movie season, Jared and Shane take one for the team by watching Sex Tape, a “raunchy” comedy  starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. Directed by Jake Kasdan, this uneven picture tells the tale of a married couple that must reclaim the sexy video they accidentally sent out to friends, colleagues, and even the mailman via a buttload of used iPads.

Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds.

So skip the movie and spend all your time listening to (or watching!) Jared and Shane try to find constructive things to say about this movie. You won’t be disappointed. But if you are, at least you didn’t have to look at Jason Segel’s butt as much as your Scope hosts did.

The Scope Sex Tape movie review would be 96% better with a Rob Lowe cameo.
