Episode 201: 2015 Look Ahead

The Scope episode 201 specializes in giant waves of pop culture goodness.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Jupiter Ascending

The long-delayed sci-fi epic, Jupiter Ascending, is finally arriving in theaters and two of your Scope hosts have a few things to say about the latest talkie from the Wachowski siblings.

Yes, Jared and Shane are at it again, reviewing movies for all! The guys have *a lot* to say about this massively expensive film. Will Jared dig Mila Kunis’ performance? Does Shane swoon at Channing Tatum’s muscles and intergalactic flying speed skating boots? Does Jupiter Ascending live up to legacy of The Matrix? Well, the answers all exist within this, the most important review The Scope has ever done!

Digest it now.

The Scope Jupiter Ascending review is not the one-hit-wonder equivalent of Dexys Midnight Runners.

Episode 200: The Scope 200th Episode Celebration

Episode 200. The most momentous event in all of Scope show history (followed closely by the time Adam attended three show tapings in a row back in 2009.)

Yes, Jared, Adam, and Shane have been at this podcasting thing a long time. In celebration, these three blokes thought it would be cool if they tackled some serious Scope trivia. What arcane factoids will Jared and Adam recall from almost nine years of recordings? Well, fire up your podcaster device of choice and find out!

It’s 200 shows, yo! 200 shows! Long live The Scope!

The Scope episode 200 realizes it might have a bit of a thing for JJ Abrams. (Listen and find out what that means.)

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Project Almanac

In this, the latest Scope movie review, Jared and Shane tackle the Michael Bay produced teen-time travel and oft delayed motion picture, Project Almanac. This found footage film tells the story of a group of high school seniors who create a time machine and then go and muck up the space-time continuum. (Editor’s note: the word “time” was used three times in two sentences. Too much?)

Find out if your Scope hosts can make sense of the movie’s science, if they’d do anything for love, and if they can figure out where the movie’s main character’s mother disappeared to for most of the film. It’s high brow stuff.

The Scope Project Almanac review knows an XBOX-360’s graphic processor would never really be able to power a time machine. How bush league.

Episode 199: Trouble with Troubles

Now that 2014 is behind us all 2015 is marching along, your Scope crew is back with the first show of the new year. In this edition, Jared, Adam, and Shane chew on such topics as: Key West, measles, airplane catalogs, and the weight of Kindle books (they’re too heavy!)

Along with those topics, the boys chat about the upcoming Super Bowl game (Jared and Shane picked the Pats to win, Adam went with the Hawks by 1.) Basically, it was a show filled the rim.

So, please, won’t you start enjoying it immediately? The new year and the podcasting spirit will appreciate it!

The Scope episode 199 is scared of the two new Disney characters Measle Mouse and Rubella DeVille.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Kingsman: The Secret Service

2015 is here and so is the first Scope movie review of the year! This time around, Jared and Shane spill all the beans about the Matthew Vaughn directed film, Kingsman: The Secret Service. This comic book movie (based off the Mark Millar comic, The Secret Service) stars a regal Colin Firth, a distinguished Michael Caine, and a zany Samuel L. Jackson.

And some punk named Taron.

So does this movie have what it takes to live up to the not-too-shabby comic? Does it have the power to stand up on its own? Well, why don’t you listen/watch the latest little ditty from your friends at The Scope and find out?

The Scope Kingsman: The Secret Service review questions Sam Jackson’s decision to talk in a goofy lisp. Sorry, Mr. Jackson.

Episode 198: The Scope Holiday Gift Guide

The Scope, along with the rest of the world, is in the middle of the holiday season. So Jared, Adam, and Shane thought it would be appropriate to present to Scope listeners everywhere a list of great holiday gift ideas. Technology, music, video games, and more (did someone say cuisine?) are all covered. And covered in a way that’s oh-so The Scope.

So take a minute, put down those cookies and eggnog, and boot up your podcasting or videocasting device so you can get into the holiday spirit…Scope Style!

The Scope episode 198 wants Julia Child to get a room.

Episode 197: The Scope’s What If? – Iron Man 2 1991

Because the world demanded it, The Scope’s newest repeating segment is back! Of course we’re talking about What If?: Iron Man 2 ’91 edition. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, it should. Because The Scope is taking on super hero movies and alternative timelines and debates on actors!

So this is a good time to stop reading this and start listening to (or watching, if that’s your thing) to Jared, Adam, and Shane do some serious breaking down of pop culture and heroics. Go! Go! Go!

The Scope episode 197 is singin’ the hoot.

PS John Cheedle.

Episode 196: San Chigos and Homestead Runners

In this edition of The Scope, the gang talks about all sorts of Black Friday shopping shenanigans, getting ice cream drunk, and alternate Mexican fast food restaurant names. And that’s all before Adam gets into the news segment, big time.

And we haven’t even mentioned the “dongerbase” discussion yet! So why don’t you get to checking out the latest Scope for all the deets? Thanks!

The Scope episode 196 wants to get some licks in.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: The Hobbit – The Battle of the Five Armies

You asked for three Hobbit films; you get three Hobbit films. Did you ask? Regardless, the third in a series of three is upon us. Martin Freeman and the whole gang are back to witness THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES. Five armies will do battle. Then we close things out with a very special episode of Auction Kings.

The Scope The Hobbit – The Battle of the Five Armies review could have named that tune in three armies.
