Under The Scope | Movie Review: Deadpool

In 2016, the superhero films are a startin’ early. On the latest Scope movie review, Jared and Shane take a look at the first hero film of the year, Deadpool.

The “merc with the mouth” returns to the screen after a disastrous debut in some lousy Wolverine film. This time around, Ryan Reynolds and company try to right the Marvel/X-Men universe ship with a more…faithful take on the beloved comic book character.

That means: a costume that looks like Deadpool, potty humor, ultra violence, and breaking of the 4th wall. So, yeah, this ain’t your typical Marvel film. (And wait until you see old Stan Lee’s cameo!)

The time is now. Check out the Scope review. And then check out the movie. You know you ****ing want to, you ****-****ing **** ****weed. (Inspired by Mr. Pool.)

The Scope Deadpool review wants a Voltron ring.

Now that we’re a few weeks in the year 2016, Jared, Adam, and Shane thought it would be great to use episode 223 to look ahead to what’s coming in the next 365. Movies, video games, and politics made the list. It’s 85.5% likely that it’ll be a spirited conversation.

And, if you pay close attention, you might learn a thing about Adam’s brand-new Leaf antenna. That, in itself, is worth 45 minutes of your time, right? So stop reading this and start listening to the latest Scope!

Under The Scope | Movie Review: The Hateful Eight (70mm Roadshow)

Cowboys and Quentin. That’s a combo we can all get behind. And that’s exactly what you’ll do when you see Mr. Tarantino’s latest opus, The Hateful Eight.

In this post Civil War drama, Kurt Russell, Sam Jackson, and Jennifer Jason Leigh play a group of mean folk willing to do mean things to each other. Trust me, any more description would not do this tense, smartly-written film justice.

That being said, what do Jared and Shane think of this picture? And does the 70mm presentation add anything to the mix? Is it possible your Scope hosts give The Hateful Eight an unprecedented eight Scope stars? Why don’t you listen to, or even better, watch their on the road review and find out?

The Scope The Hateful Eight review is not as long as the film.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: In the Heart of the Sea

Thor and a mean, old, giant white whale. That’s what Ron Howard’s dealing with in his latest film, In the Heart of the Sea.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, this movie tells the story that inspired Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. So yes, there’s a lot of harpoons, blubber, and dried lips. (If you see the flick, you’ll know what that means.)

But the real question is if the Scope’s Jared and Shane bought into this historical ocean tale or they thought the story just took on too much water. Why don’t you check out this latest movie review and find out?

The Scope In the Heart of the Sea review won’t climb into a whale carcass to get every drop of oil.

Under The Scope | Movie Review: Sisters

In an interesting attempt at counter-programming, the movie studio behind the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler comedy, Sisters, has decided to release the film the same day as Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Luckily for the people behind Sisters, your Scope hosts had a chance to catch a sneak preview of the film. (Because we all know which film Jared and Shane would pick on December 18th.)

And, as luck would have it, your Scope hosts liked this little film about two 40-something siblings going back to throw one last party in their childhood home.

But how much did they enjoy it? Why don’t you take a few minutes, listen to (or watch) the latest movie review from The Scope. After hearing what the guys had to say, you just might have another movie to check out after you watch Episode VII.

The Scope Sisters review is amazed by John Cena’s massive arms and neck tattoo.
