I had cassette singles of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and John Mellencamp’s Van Morrison cover “Wild Night”. I taped an NBC movie as a child called “Dance Til Dawn” and watched that repeatedly as a child. It featured: Allysa Milano, Matthew Perry, Christina Applegate, Frasier Crane, Grace from Ferris Beuller, Vanessa Huxtable, Robin Thicke’s dad and some Italian-ish teen who was supposedly supposed to be the biggest star of them all.

Bell Biv Devoe and Father of the Bride don’t sound so bad now.

My skeleton is out and I should probably kill myself.

I don’t think Father of the Bride or the Never Ending Story are anything to be embarrassed about. I love both those movies and I’m not embarrassed. I don’t think either of you, Shane or Adam, dug deep enough! Especially you Adam, I know you like some pretty embarrassing things. I am going to go ahead and say pretty much every kid I knew loved Never Ending Story back in the day. If you revisit this show in the future, I expect a lot more embarrassing things than a childrenâ€™s movie and chick flick.

A couple of years ago I went to a midnight showing of “NeverEnding Story” at the Uptown, and yes… It has a ton of gay subtext in it. But it’s not really subtext if it’s that close to the surface.
I still like the movie though. The special effects for the time are good, and the character designs are amazing. It’s cheesy and melodramatic, but I still like it. And I love the book(I even have a “making of” book).

And p.s. my team is totally going to win the Scope World Series of Pop Culture Contest…. AGAIN!

-i was WAY into ABC back in the day.

-i am also way pumped for RE: extinction. Earl and Jared are not alone!

-here is my amusing young einstein story: i was also way into the movie as a kid. i saw it with my ultra-religious grandmother in the theater. Darwin shows up later in the movie, and I had no idea who he was. I asked my grandmother and she said something along the lines of ‘hes the man that said men evolved from monkeys, but we know thats not true because god created us just the way we are.’ altho amusingly inaccurate, the assertion that ‘man evolved from monkey’ made some innate sense to me. this actually led me down the primrose path of evolutionary biology and, eventually, atheism.

so, thank you, yahoo serious.
