Under The Scope | TV Review: Stranger Things 2

After waiting more than a year, Netflix finally unleashed season 2 of their surprise hit, Stranger Things. Appropriately called Stranger Things 2, the new batch of episodes from the Duffer Brothers further explores the crazy town of Hawkins, Ohio Indiana.

But will the Stranger Things Sequel live up to the oppressive expectations? Your Scope buddies (Shane and Jared) sat down and binged all nine episodes to tell you what they think. So grab some Eggos and belly up to this latest Scope audio masterpiece for all the answers.

Instant TV Review: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Well, Scope faithful, we are one step closer to Marvel taking over every aspect of popular media culture. First, movies. Now, with the new TV show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Disney wants to bring the popular super hero universe into your television boxes.

This direct spinoff from the Marvel cinematic universe features the return of fan-favorite Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his quest to put together a super-awesome spy team determined to save the world every week. And who better to review this eagerly-anticipated program than two real-world super heroes, Jared and Shane? The answer: No One.

So watch and/or listen as your Scope hosts give an instant reaction to the Joss Whedon-directed pilot. You may even learn a thing or two. (Okay, not two. We’ll stick with one.)

The 2006-2007 season of Saturday Night Live was one of change. Weekend Update anchor Tina Fey (along with Rachel Dratch) left the show to focus on 30 Rock while Horatio Sanz, Chris Parnell, and Finesse Mitchell were let go due to massive budget cuts.

This left a lean and mean cast of eleven, with Seth Meyers taking over the coveted Weekend Update co-anchor position. But the big question remained: could this small cast overcome these changes and succeed after a number of uneven seasons?
