Adam also reads someone else’s Guns N’ Roses review (but has the ~~nards~~ ~~wisdom~~ nards to not pass it off as his own); let the lawsuits commence.

And finally, it becomes crystal-clear why everyone wants Shane erased from the face of a little blue & green planet we all call Earth.

We may not do a podcast that either the moderator or Joe Biden want to hear, but we’re goin’ to talk straight to the American people and let them know our track record also.

That could mean one thing: another highly informed and rational political discussion. Jared, Adam, and Shane take aim at the Vice Presidential debate (not at wolves from helicopters) and break it down like only a trio of geeky, sometimes lonely, men would.

We also travel back to the simpler time of 1998 (when you could love Third Eye Blind and *NSYNC in public!!!) to wax poetic about the music of those 365 days. You may take bets to whether Adam sheds a tear over the mere mention of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” Also. O’Biden.

Yes it’s time once again for that “one game where Shane asks his in-law relatives general questions, and we lay down huge money bets to see if they got them right or wrong ™”!

We also go over the over-sexualized party for Jared’s birthday, The Scope’s utter domination in trivia, and the terrors of houses making phone calls!

Yes, it’s that time of year once again. So that means a spirited political conversation revolving around a cast member from NBC’s 30 Rock. Oh, we also delve into the 2008 Fall television schedule. And find out how much Adam hates the new album from The Verve (not Pipe).

All of this tomfoolery couldn’t take place without fan-favorite girl guest, Molly, stopping by the Scope Studios! Take it from your hip Scope hosts…this show is poppin’!

One final thing: could someone please leave a comment or two? We can tell that at least five people are listening (not counting wives, girlfriends, and fellow Dukes of Hazzard fan club members.) And, while it pains us to say this, every time we go comment free, Jared feels compelled to punish himself by watching an old rerun of The Facts of Life. From the uninspired final season. Ick. Get off our backs! It’s summer and all we want to do is pour ourselves a freshly-squeezed glass of lemonade (or Country Time, if we’re lazy), belly up to the old swimmin’ hole, and let the smoldering sun leather up our Speedo-clad bodies.

What that means to you, the loyal Scope listener, is that you won’t get another new show until early next week. But we promise we’ll be back with tales of vacation, action figure hunts, and New Kids on the Block. Until then, enjoy your summer…we’ll be talking at you before you know it.

It’s been a busy three weeks for your Scope hosts. Adam has been toiling away at his new job, Jared has been busily preparing for and performing at MarsCON 2008, and Shane has beaten one full level of Call of Duty 4. So all in, all, a lot has been accomplished.

That being said, we’ve got some unfinished business to cover as well as disseminate a little bit of Scope news. Let’s begin.

THE SCOPE OSCAR PICKING COMPETITION
Even without picking any of the female acting categories, frequent contributor to the show, Molly, picked five of seven categories correctly. Congratulations, Molly! You truly are the entertainment expert..for 2007.

THE SPECIAL SCOPE MARSCON 2008 SHOW
…it never happened. While we had big plans to make a big splash at the convention, we failed to follow through. To quote Marsha Brady, “Something suddenly came up.” And that something involved whisky drinks, lager drinks, vodka drinks, and cider drinks. We promise we’ll cover the MarsCON comings and goings in the next Scope episode!
